Please know there is a $30 fee for any valid orders via credit card transactions that are refuted.

Checks should be made out to Smith & Sons Fuels. You can pre-pay by check at our office on Route 30 in Mayfield or give our driver a check. Please note: If you write "for deposit only" only Smith & Sons Fuels can deposit it. Business checks can not be cashed so this method of payment is very secure.

We offer pre-payment plans April-August that allow customers to pre-pay in the summer to offset the cost of fuel during the winter months.
Fuel prices fluctuate everyday so we don't want to estimate you in at a higher set price per gallon but we can allow you to decide (or we can provide you with an estimate like $225/month) how much you want to pay ahead each month. Then we will credit your account like a savings account.

Budget Plans/Capped/Fixed Pricing
At this time we do not offer budget plans, capped pricing or fixed pricing. We recommend that you create your own budget. Ask us for your last 2 years worth of account history, divide what you paid by 24, put that amount in a savings account monthly, move the money to your checking account when you are ready to order in the heating season. This way you earn interest and aren't stuck with additional finance fees. You could also put it on a credit card and get the bonus reward points each month. You could also mail a check to us for $200/month every month starting in May. If we are able to offer this in a way that would benefit our customers without costing them a lot extra we will, but so far what we've looked in to would be too costly to customers.

We happily accept New York State's Home Energy Assistance Program customers. Please click here HEAP for more information. You can also contact your local Department of Social Services for assistance. HEAP customers get a 7 cent discount with us year round.

Discounts
Senior discount (65+) = .05/gallon. Valid ID required.
Veteran discount = .05/gallon. Valid ID required.
Refer a friend and get a $5.00 credit per friend (referral must be new).
All HEAP customers get a government mandated discount of 7 cents per gallon.
We also offer quantity discounts for customers who purchase fuel for 3 or more locations (like landlords, churches, municipalities, and business owners).
**Sorry discounts can not be combined.
Charitable Organizations
Checks from Catholic Charities and local church organizations are also accepted. Please have the organization's representative call us at 518-661-6112.
Business Taxes
Effective 01/01/12 there is a NYS non-residential heating tax (it varies usually between .048 and .055/gallon)+ 8% sales tax (note sales tax varies by county) charged to all non-exempt businesses purchasing heating oil or kerosene in New York state. Exempt organizations must submit a valid ST-119. Governments need to provide a government entity letter, businesses must provide an ST-120, Manufacturers must have an FT-1012, Farmers/Loggers must have an FT-1004. No exceptions. (NY Certificate of Exemption Request)
If you are an exempt company without proper documentation we will charge tax and you can apply for a credit with the state as needed when you do your taxes.

If the amount of the gift card is less than the price of the scheduled fuel delivery the recipient will be responsible to pay the balance.
If the amount of the gift card is more than the scheduled fuel delivery the recipient will have a credit on their account to use for a later delivery.
